Olive Oil Facial

This works particularly well if you get dry flaky areas on your face, which tends to happen if you don't exfoliate regularly. I usually do this facial once a month when i'm good about it. It's easy, affordable and gentle on the skin. It's great for exfoliating all the dead skin off your face, and it leaves my skin looking fresh and glowing. But it's the sort of facial you do when you're at home all day. Unless you don't mind walking around looking like you're 'set to fry'.

How to;

  • Rinse your face with warm water, and take your time doing so to really let the moisture soak into the dry skin on your face, alternatively you could wet a face towel with warm water and hold it up against your face for a good 2 minutes.
  • Dab the excess water of your face.
  • While your skin is still damp, apply the olive oil on your face using your finger tips. Put a good enough amount that it's not absorbed by your skin, but not so much that it's dripping.
  • Avoid the area around the eyes, because the oil will spread, and have a tissue on hand to dab that area when it does, to avoid it going into the eyes. It's not harmful if it does, but it is uncomfortable and can sting a bit.
  • Leave this on for as long as you can bear it (I usually leave it on for 5+ hours while I'm busy doing other things.)
  • Wipe the excess oil off your face using soft tissue, then wash with a gentle soap, face towel, and warm water, taking your time to work through the entire face in circular motion (the face towel is key in getting the softened dead skin off the face, using your hand's won't do it as well).
  • Rinse, and wash again with the gentle soap or a cleanser to thoroughly clean the oil off your face if you wish to.

Lots of Love, Mel
