Get Inspired!

Are you bored? Are you uninspired? Do You not know what to do with your life? (Sounds like a commercial)

Been there, done that. For the longest time, and i mean years, I was in 'lala' land not doing much with with my life. I felt sorry for myself, ate my sorrows away, stopped playing piano, and sat glued to the internet and rubbish telly shows any chance i got, and it showed. I started looking frumpy. It's a vicious cycle that's easy to get sucked into. But i finally got off that wheel, and i wish i'd done it sooner. But all things in due time.

Maybe you work, doing a job you don't necessarily like but you've got bills to pay, and i get that. But if you're going to work miserable every day, then i put it to you that you're probably not doing what you're meant to be. Life's supposed to be enjoyable. Yes, even with work. Work is not supposed to feel like a chore. You should love what you're doing so much that it doesn't feel like work. The challenges that come with it should be exciting, not feel like you're a step closer to the guillotine every time one rolls around. Life is short, and God did not mean for you to live a miserable one.

'Well, easier said than done Mel'. Of course it is! It takes seconds to speak it, and so much more time, effort and sacrifice to make it happen. It's a choice that you have to commit and stick to 'til you see it through.Unfortunately 'nothing comes easy' is a very true statement. You have to be willing to work for it.

Right, so enough of all that. How do you actually get started?

Get inspired!

I'm sure you've heard the term Garbage in, garbage out. 'Stop wasting your time doing useless activities. Stop watching people show off their millions as you sit there helping increasing their ratings, all the while adding no value to your own life!' - My mum used to say this to me all the time and she spoke truth (Thanks Mum xxx).

Pick up magazines with topics that catch your interest. Watch or read interviews of solid successful individuals you admire or look up to. Watch documentaries that you're interested in. Travel. Learn a new skill. Take the time to just be by yourself. Go for a walk and just think about what you'd like to do with your life (realistically), or what activity you'd like to get involved in.

Through all this and other positive, life-enriching activities, you'll come across something you really enjoy doing. And you'll find yourself getting more involved in it, spending your time better, and feel excited and inspired about life and all its possibilities. And with the excitement of life, you'll find it'll be easier to work on your health, wellness, happiness, and all that good stuff because you'll be in a good state of mind.

If you're in a job you don't like, you can still figure out what you're really about, and while you're still working where you are, start dreaming, planning, researching. Every success story started from just that. Be open to life and new opportunities. Be present in every situation, because you just don't know when and in what way the next door will open. Have an expectant and excited attitude towards life and you'll attract the right situations, ready to receive what God has for you. Life is what you make it.

Lots of Love, Mel
