A Balanced Life

I don't believe it's ever possible to have everything - family, work, friends, spririt, self, all equally balanced at the same time. You're always spending more time and effort in one area at a time, and that's fine. If you're in touch with the flow of your life, you will at some point be giving more to that area that needs it. And THAT, in my opinion, is balance.

Sometimes you need more of a particular thing in your life for different reasons. More time with friends because you need that time with people who get you. Let's face it, in a family everyone is not on the same wave length, you're at different stages in life, or of the opposite sex, so you need that support and understanding from your peers. More family time because you and your partner are not in sync at the moment, or spending quality time with your kids.

More time at work because big things are happening, or not, and you need to get busy. More time with yourself because you need to rest, take a break, hear yourself think, and compose yourself. More time with God because your running on empty spiritually, or you're going through a tough time in life.

Paying attention to that part in your life that you need to at that particular time, creates balance, because that's how you keep it together. By doing what you can when you need to. So don't run yourself crazy trying to have everything at 90 when it's not even natural.

Take life as it comes. Listen to yourself, because your instinct, spirit, and your environment, will let you know when you need something, just like the body does with food and nourishment.

So just go with what feels right and good with no apology, as long as you're in tune and true to yourself and what's important. Be balanced.

Lots of Love, Mel
